Tangible Objects

Items placed on a digital table are uniquely differentiated and identified.

Summary:

Items placed on a digital table are uniquely differentiated and identified. Causes in-context information to be displayed or actions to occur. Unlike copier machines, they can be configured to reject derrière placement. (Well, they probably don’t but they should.)

Business Value:

A very cool and high-tech way to engage museum visitors. As it will be a table-mount, exhibits using tangible objects can accommodate multiple people with different items.

Key Intuiface Feature(s):

Tangible object support. Items are pre-tagged with visual cues like unique dot arrangements. Special displays with in-mount cameras can “see” the tag and pass that information along to Intuiface. Intuiface uses that information to grab the appropriate content and display it on the screen. This hardware, which could also accommodate touch, does need to be specially purchased from third parties who manufacture such devices.
